Meet the grey fox: a beautiful and elusive animal that can be found all over North America, Canada, and even as far as Venezuela and Colombia. Speaking of elusiveness, it can be tough to tell the difference between the grey fox and different species. But don't worry – just look for the long, developed tails with black tips and you'll know you've found a grey fox. They're about 50 to 70 cm long and can weigh up to 7 kg. And while there's not much sexual dysmorphism (meaning males and females look pretty similar), females are generally smaller than males.
What makes the grey fox truly special is its ability to climb trees – a feat that's pretty impressive for a canid. Oh, and did we mention that the grey fox is an endangered species? It's true – these beautiful animals are in danger of disappearing, so it's important that we do our part to help protect the grey fox and other endangered animals.
